Success stories
As a leading provider of security officers around Australia, Abacus is often called on to deal with some exceptional circumstances where specialised services are required including the following:
Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO): Hong Kong House, Sydney
Our officers are required to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism, while adhering to strict access control and visitor monitoring.
Abacus has become an intricate part of their security team resulting in our contract being renewed until 2020.
Watpac: Lucas Heights Nuclear Reactor, Southern Sydney
Working directly alongside the Australian Federal Police (AFP), our officers were responsible for the access control of construction vehicles on and off-site, as well as escorting responsibilities within the facility itself.
Both our company and officers completed specific training and accreditation processes to allow us to perform these tasks.
WestConnex M4-M5 Link (Stage 2 and 3)
WDA, SMC, CPB, Leighton, CDSJV, Ward Civil, AECOM, Fulton Hogan
Providing on-site security officers, mobile vehicle patrols and foot patrols, Abacus Security Services has been responsible for securing the entire WestConnex project (Stage 2 and Stage 3) – the 33-kilometre motorway currently under construction in Sydney.
Included were varied responsibilities involving protest action, squatters, acquisition zone, vacant properties and access control.
Given the size and complexity of such massive infrastructure on multiple sites, a major challenge was the reporting to many different stakeholders, including Sydney Motorway Corporation (SMC), CPB Constructions and Fulton Hogan.
We developed and implemented new operational systems to successfully meet these expectations and the rigorous operational demands.
At short notice, we have also been able to provide last minute additional officers to help manage community demonstrations.
